Statement

I am currently studying a level three BTEC extended diploma in fashion and clothing. I would like to further my education by going onto your BA (hons) fashion degree because I am very enthusiastic about design, pattern cutting and garment technology. I feel like I would benefit from studying at Manchester Metropolitan University because Manchester is a vibrant and fashion forward city with a lot of inspiration.

Here is a collection of photographs to show my favourite two projects. My first project was Liverpool. This was my most enjoyable project yet, I am very proud of my city's culture and history, and I take pleasure in teaching people about this wonderful city. I decided to present my project in a sketch book and A1 boards. I have chosen to show my A1 designer and artist research because not only did I find this enjoyable but I think it is a fun way to present research. Next I have photographed my sketch book pages in order to show how I have created my design ideas. I designed fifty design ideas but I chose my favourite eighteen to show you in this portfolio. I have shown my final jumpsuit photo shoot, I have left the original image and played around on Photoshop with the remaining three images. Whilst doing my Liverpool inspired project I then made a basic bodice dress with pockets. My dress was inspired from how Liverpool changed the music industry and I have shown my final photo shoot image.

My next project, Sea Odyssey is my current design project. I have decided to present my work on A1 boards only. I have shown a close up of one of my secondary boards. I have used charcoal to draw these images and this was a fun process to do. As I used charcoal I decided to add colours into my designer research board. I have produced samples in black, white and colour. Sea Odyssey is still on going so I have not made my final garment, however I have made a mock up skirt and this is my photo shoot image.
